This is the first dispatch. It's also a test, so if it looks rough, that's why.

Dispatches are the longer writing from reason.direct. The log is where small updates go, dated and unedited. Dispatches are for things that need more room: what we built, why it didn't work the first time, what we'd do differently.

What to expect. They're numbered, in the order they're published. They're plain text first, because the email version is the real one and the page is a copy of it. There's no schedule. One will arrive when there's something worth saying, and not before.

What we won't do. There's no tracking here. We don't count opens or clicks, there's no analytics, and there are no accounts to make. If you subscribe, all we have is your email address, and all we use it for is sending you a dispatch.

What's next. This site and the newsletter behind it were set up today, so some parts are still being wired together. When they're done, the first real dispatch will replace this one.
